Broncos Flag Football Encourages Coach and Friend Requests

We know how much more fun it is for kids to play on a team with their friends. We do our best to accommodate friend and coach requests and give teams an opportunity to stay together and develop friendships, both players and parents, over the seasons.

Broncos Flag Football Leagues Play On Grass Fields at Neighborhood Parks and Schools.

This allows you and your family to sit right off the sidelines, alongside your child's team and the other team parents.

There's nothing like cheering your child on from 10 feet away as they race up the field for a touchdown or high-fiving them as they come off the field after a big play on defense.

The large park spaces allow team parents, family members and friends to be on the sidelines at every game, encouraging the development of team friendships, camaraderie and team spirit.    

Kids want to play on grass fields - it's what they are used to playing on with their friends at school and it's much softer and forgiving when falling or sliding on than the hard Artificial Turf.

Our large grassy locations allow for ample practice space for each team, away from the commotion of multiple other games and practices going on and encourage parents and spectators to set up chairs, canopies, refreshments and really enjoy their time at the park.

Why we don't play on high school artificial turf fields:

• Artificial turf is a much harder and unforgiving surface for kids without pads to play and complete on. Players we surveyed expressed an overwhelming preference for grass fields over the hard turf fields.

• Limited space. To fit all the league games in on a single high school football field, multiple games and team practices would need to happen concurrently and both game fields and practice fields would need to be reduced to a less than ideal size.  

• Parents are not allowed on the field at high school venues. Watching your child's game from a few hundred feet away in the bleachers while other games and practices are also going on is not what the youth sports experience should be about. This is especially true for very young kids who often need the support and encouragement of parents during games.   

• Player Safety Concerns: NBC News reported in October 2014 "How Safe is the Artificial Turf Your Child Plays On?" Studies have shown that chemical exposures from the rubber tire turf fields may present heath risks to children.
